STEPSEP /P SPECIFICITIES
DESCRIPTION / OPERATION
The STEPSEP step screen, STS/P series, are installed in channels. They fulfill the fine screening function at the inlet of a sewage treatment plant (mesh from 3 to 6 mm). They are equipped with a fully integrated ENVIROPRESS compactor for screenings dewatering.
The effluent passes through the screen and deposits the suspended matter on the filter screen constituted by vertical lamellas made of stair-shaped cutted stainlesssteel sheets.
The screen start-up is programmed periodically, and by loss of head measurement caused by the accumulation of waste on the immerged part of the screen. The recovery of waste on top of the unit is carried out by the rotating movement of the lamellas.
DESIGN
FRAME
The structure of the screen is made up of two lateral frame structures fitting the required channel width. For channel installation, lateral rubber bands are sealing the gap between screen and civil-work. Different widths and discharge heights are available to accommodate a wide variety of configurations.
FILTRATION SCREEN
The screen consists of fixed lamellas and movable lamellas mounted alternately. The moving lamellas describe a circular motion. Thus, their relative movement, with respect to the fixed blades, has the effect of raising the waste step by step to the top of the unit before discharge.
MECANISM
The circular movement of the movable assembly is generated by means of transmission arms connected to eccentric wheels. The assembly is driven by a geared motor mounted on the main driving shaft.
COMPACTOR
The screening waste is falling down directly into an integrated screw compactor installed transversally where it is compressed and dewatered. Screenings can also be conditionned into a continuous plastic bagging unit before beeing dumped into a container.
